MC Sensors

SensorsIcon-1000MC Sensors is a powerful monitoring and analyzing toolbox for the internal sensors of your iPad or iPhone. It displays signals from the internal accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and the device rotation. You can display and analyse this data with the help of a an oscilloscope, FFT for peak frequency detection, level meter and a XY-view.

Each sensor provides three data channels that can be displayed and analysed separately or in a combined manner. You can easily measure the current gravitational force (e.g. in a car or an elevator) or the magnetic field magnitude. The FFT lets you detect low frequency vibrations (1 – 50 Hz).

App features:
– chose between accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and device rotation sensor data
– FFT, oscilloscope, XY-view and level meter separately or simultaneously useable
– save and load records in separate workspace
– real-time data of 3 channels per sensor
– select channels of sensors
– sensor display modes: separate channels, combined, sum
– languages: English, Deutsch, Русский

FFT features:
– frequency range: 1 – 50 Hz
– block sizes: 1s – 10s
– windowing of input signals
– real-time peak display
– pinch zoom and cursor magnifier

Oscilloscope features:
– pinch zoom and cursor magnifier
– automatic trigger mode

XY-view features:
– select channels for X- and Y-axis
– pinch zoom and cursor magnifier
– automatic trigger mode

Level meter features:
– response time modes: impulse, fast, slow
– peak indication

Main Screen

The user interface in MC Sensors consists of various instruments: a full scale level meter on the left and oscilloscope, FFT or XY-view on the right.

You can hold your device in landscape or portrait orientation, everything in MC Sensors scales accordingly. And each instrument (oscilloscope, level meter) can be displayed in full screen also. Just use double tap and it will fill out the whole screen (and double tap again to switch back). You can lock orientation by tapping on the lock in the bottom left corner.

The pause button on the left side (un-)freezes the display, giving you the possibility to investigate details in graphs or read and compare numbers and values. Most instruments have a magnifier – just do a long tap and it will open up!

Each instrument has three view modes to display data from the input channels of the sensor: sum, separate and combined. You can switch the view mode by single tapping an instrument. If your activated only one channel, the combined mode is not available.

In the menu you can configure several parameters of the oscilloscopeslevel meters, FFT and XY-views.

You can configure time and amplitude range, peak display and the trigger to stabilise periodical signals. All settings are saved and reloaded next time you open the app.
